A Report From The Front Lines Of Ennui
I know, I know. I haven't updated the site in months. The dozens of my loyal readers have been no doubt champing at the bit. And for this, I sincerely apologize. I really, honestly do.
I won't lie, it's a question of drive.
See, I love nothing more than doing these crazy movie reviews that I do. It's the most fun that I can have at my computer with my pants on. That's not to say that they're actually ON, but I could DO IT with my pants on were I so inclined.
But the past few months have been pretty intense.
For starters, as you know Morn and I are living together once again. For any of you newbies, I'll explain: Morn is my ex-wife. We divorced several years ago, but we're back together again. And, since we're both kind of masochistic, we're even living together with an eye on getting re-married.
She works her ass off, as do I. The difference being, I work my ass off at NIGHT, and she works her ass off during the day. Add sleep into the equation, and there's only a few hours a day that we can actually spend any time together. I'd like to think that I should actually be spending those hours with HER rather than saying "Oh honey, I'm so glad you're home. Now I'm going to disappear into my office for a few hours so I can write a sarcastic movie review, and then relate our personal anecdotes for other people's amusement."
I'll save that for when we get married again.
Plus, I really am busy working for The Show. And they're paying me actual MONEY. You know...those small rectangular pieces of paper that can be exchanged for goods and services. I've decided that I like money. It helps us pay the rental fees on the Love Palace here.
By the way, I'm still taking donations...hint hint hint...
With all that going on, and the fact that it was summer, I just needed a break from the routine. But now I'm back, and I promise you, my loyal (for some reason) readers that there are going to be more updates. Frequent updates. Hopefully of the funny and entertaining variety.
This isn't the only project I've put on the backburner. My adventures in self-publishing have been delayed, but I'm going to get cracking there too. Plus, not one, but TWO potential one-man shows are in the works, if you're in the Toronto area. No promises, but I AM working on them.
Plus, there are way, WAY too many fucked up things that happen to me on a daily basis. How can I NOT keep a journal?
So, I'm back. And hopefully, you are too. All I ask is that you please, PLEASE spread the word. The more people that visit, the easier it is to keep the site going. Tell your friends, family, co-workers, and even people that you don't like. The more the merrier.
And finally, in closing, I love each and every one of you. And if it means you'll keep visiting, and getting other people to visit, then I promise to love you personally...you know, in that "wow-chika-WOW" way. After all, if I can't give you that 10 seconds of my time, then what good am I?
