Shape Of...A Fat, Prematurely Greying Critic!

Look folks, I'm well aware that I'm a grown adult. But most of you know as well that I'm a comic book fiend from way back.

So it should come as no surprise that I've become quite a fan of the new "Justice League Unlimited" series.

(ONLY NERDS WILL GET THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT. EVERYONE ELSE SKIP AHEAD)

I was always a Marvel guy, not so much a DC fan. So it's surprising that I like it so much. But I'm finding that what I like most about it is the fact that it doesn't just cater to the "Main" characters like Superman and Batman any more. They're pulling main characters from the entire history of DC, and making them damned interesting. Especially the Booster Gold episode.

It's actually a surprisingly "mature" show...in that it's pretty violent and they don't shy away from the sexual innuendo. In fact, there was a recent episode that included a blatant reference to - ahem - sexy dreams. To wit, Green Arrow was discussing dreams with Supergirl, who had been plagued with real-seeming nightmares. Leering at a female hero (Black Canary), he then lasciviously growls, "I've had some dreams that seem mighty real. There was this one the other night..."

Yeah...not exactly the "Superfriends" of our youth.

But I'm not here just to confess my love of a cartoon show to you guys. No, it's much more embarassing than that.

See, I've kind of developed a "thing" for Supergirl.

I'm not sure what it is. But I THINK it's because I'm only attracted to strong women...and by strong. I mean more than just physical strength. Strength of character, strength of conviction, strong personality...that sort of thing.

So I THINK that's why Supergirl does it for me. Of course, Buceta told me the other day that it's because I like young girls. But then again, he projects more than a fucking drive in, so I never take him seriously.

I wonder what else it could be?

OH! I bet you THAT'S it!!!
